NEW DELHI 1 - E E HALL IMAGE COLLECTION
In 2012 the family of the late Mr. E.E. Hall (an architect and key member of Lutyens's team in New Delhi) donated a valuable collection of some 200 black and white prints, some with negatives, taken in India in the late 1920s, by Mr. Hall and others. A Photographic Archive Committee member spent many hours scanning and digitally enhancing these images as some of the negatives were quite small.
The images shown below are of Rashtrapati Bhavan (formerly Viceroy's House, New Delhi, and now the official residence of the President of India) at various stages of construction.
